Not always bugs!: Several causes for "bug bites." detailed history (how, when, who else) and exam (what the lesion looks like, and what the rest of you looks like) is often needed to get to the correct answer. The most important thing to keep in mind, however, is that many if not most unknown "bug bites" turn out not to be bug bites. Bugs are often blamed incorrectly. Finding the bug on body or home is best clue!

: Watch and wait. You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!

Scalp issue?: Lymph nodes in the neck ofter get enlarged due to issue with the scalp, e.g., dandruff. Wash your scalp daily with any shampoo. Check your node every couple of weeks, not more frequently. if it doubles in size or other nodes get enlarged, see a doctor, otherwise watchful waiting is appropriate.

Itchy: Likely a bite.  Sometimes they are red and sometimes not.  Cool compress, benadryl (diphenhydramine) and see if improves.  Another thought would be infection, but this would likely be tender.

swollen lymph node on my neck, doctor said it was prob caused by a blackfly bite right next to it. less than 1cm, moveable. but size same for 2 weeks.i cant stop checking / pressing it like 100 times a day ( health anxiety+ocd) am i making it worse?

: I doubt if pushing on it makes any difference in its pattern of eventual calming down. These increase in size after stimulation and commonly take 4-6 weeks to return to baseline size.

i am having laser tattoo removal on the back of my neck. i had my first session two weeks ago , its healing very well however i noticed a round hard painful lump at the base of my skull back of neck. swollen lymph node??

: You are likely correct. Any disturbance of the skin surface as would be in tattoo removal may trigger enlargement of local nodes that can persist for a few weeks.
