Any: Any insect bite that has red dots associated with it has shown what is called a "local inflammatory reaction" which is the body's normal response to the bite and is likely related to the insect's saliva or mild venom which may or may not be of concern.  If the area enlarges over 2-3 days, becomes painful (as opposed to itchy), starts to ooze, it may have become infected.  If so, seek care.

No particular bug: Bug bites are rarely unique to a specific insect.  Flea bites are small and have little clear vesicles and extreme itching but this is not unique to fleas either. This lesion could be a sting or a bite, it is impossible to say. Watch for signs of infection: pus, increasing pain, redness &amp; see doc if that happens. If numbness, tingling or severe pain,or fever, head to the ER. Tetanus shots current?

Uncertain: Sometimes a spider bite can have that appearance.  Can consider dermatologic eval to determine diagnosis and to formulate treatment plan if concerned. Take care.

Skin lesion: A dermatologist's best tool are his eyeballs. If we can't see the lesion, there is no way we can make a diagnosis as accurately as we would prefer.  You absolutely must see a dermatologist to try to get any lead toward what this might be. It would be irresponsible to guess among the thousands of diagnoses which this could be.

Go see your doctor: Pus = infection. Painful redness = infection. Both indicate infection that's not going away on its own. In other words, it's time for you to go see your family doc or perhaps to urgent care for evaluation & treatment. Don't wait until infection spreads to blood stream at which point you'll probably be too sick to log into healthtap.

Hard to say.: I would really have to see the lesion. Bug bites that do not itch are unusual, but not unheard of.  One possibility for a red dot becoming a red circle is a tick bite - and one species of tick transmits Lyme disease. So it would be prudent to have it looked at, and if necessary, treated.

Please ask your doc: to take a look.  There are multiple bugs like ticks and spiders. You need to avoid Lyme Disease and other things.  Peace and good health.

It&#x27;s hard to tell : Unless u saw the offending agent itself. Can be from anything- spider , ant, scorpion , tick etc. Follow up with your Dr if the area gets redder and bigger &amp; you may need to take antibiotics. Best wishes!

Rash: If you did not see the bug, it is unlikely to be a bug bite in that location. You need to have someone look at it for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Skin infection: The bump you describe is likely an abscess, an infection caused once the skin barrier was compromised from the insect bite.  It should be evaluated by a physician to determine the appropriate course of treatment. A healthtap prime or concierge consult may also suffice.
