Probably over the past millennia, people who genetically were better at healing passed those genes onward so the human race evolved to the current state where we heal well. The healing process involves replacing the damaged cells over about 2-3 weeks.

Check everything: Poor wound healing: you need a thorough medical exam and blood tests: short list: diabetes causes poor wound healing, platelet disorder, liver complications, inr test, lack of certain clotting factors in the blood (usually genetic)... There are too many to list which means you must see your pcp asap, do not let this go. Medical intervention is paramount. Best of luck!

Blood collection: With damage to our tissues and blood vessels, they leak blood.  Bleeding below the skin however will collect  and form a clot in the deeper tissues which is called hematoma.   If the bleeding occurs in the skin layers however, this visible purplish colored collection is called a bruise.  The blood will absorb over time as a natural part of healing.
