The tenderness: May be the sign, though unusual to present this way?  Flonase at night may help relieve pressure on the frontal sinuses, try some pseudophed or Claritin d, if that helps it may be what that is, go in for fever and try aleve (naproxen) 2 2x per day.  May not be a bacterial infection decongestant easy enough to try, ask pharmacist for Claritin d, hold behind counter now.  Gd luc.

my mom says for a few days she's felt tender pain to the touch on the bone right above her eye (the bone where the eyebrow is). any reasons for this?

Several: There can be several reasons. The most benign and likely are injury from fall or banging it.  A cyst or lesion can also cause this. Ask her about circumstances- i.e. When it started, hoe, and if there are any other symptoms.

Uncertain cause: Soreness around the eyes can often be sinus related, since there are sinuses around every side of the orbit except the outside wall.  There could also be a localized infection with in the eyelid or the tear drainage system that can make the bone around the eye feel sore or tender.  The tear drainage system is located near the inside / lower part of the orbit. Try warm or cool compress to the area.

Unsightly patch: You can use Camouflage cream to cover the area without makeup. You can also see a facial plastic surgeon for possible laser treatment.

Watchful waiting: Allow up to 3-4 weeks for the bruising and swelling to resolve. There is hardly any need to be concerned at this stage.

Swelling: First you need to see your PCP.  Several things come to mind.  Sebaceous Cyst, inflammatory/ infection  process, fatty skin tumor, which all need to be evaluated and possibly biopsied .  When this area swells, it puts pressure on the facial nerve , which exits thru a foraminal opening in the temporal area for the nerve and its 3 branches.

hi,i got punched on the cheek bone less than 24hours ago, eye is bruised badly, there is no blood in the eye it however is swollen and is blue mixed with red, please assist with reducing swelling and getting the colour lighter, thank you in advance.

Need more info: Why were you punched? If you are suffering from domestic abuse, you need to report it to police. If it was accidental you can leave it alone and it will resolve. After 24 hours you may use warm compresses to increase blood flow to the area and facilitate resolution.

: Under the skin, we can find lumps from an enclosed skin infection, non concerning fibrous changes, a neurofibroma, and several other things. Most of the time they are of no concern. Adult fibrosarcoma is rare. You should see your doctor, on rare occasions, a doctor may want to be sure and take it out for analysis. Only a doctor in person that examines you can give you the answer you need.

May be cellulitis: May be cellulitis  or an early abscess if it is  tender.
That is  when it can cause pain

Possible sinusitis: You may have frontal sinsitis. Best to see your ENT doctor for exact diagnosis and treatment.
