Bra rubbing?: Areas where a bra rubs can have some skin inflammation / irritation, after which there may be color changes. Darker spots are called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and lighter ones are called post-inflammatory hypopigmentation. Having any allergic reaction to some component of the bra can cause the same type of color changes. A doctor can check to see if that's what it is.

i recently discovered small brown spots on my stomach that was covered by the hair in that region. i'm 22 with no serious medical history. any ideas?

Probably benign: Small brown spots don't raise urgency to me.  Without seeing them, one cannot give good advice, however.  There is a good likelihood of this being a benign process, however, there are lesions of "brown" color that could be significant.  I would recommend a check by your pcp or a dermatologist at your next exam or if a changing lesion or worried, sooner.

after excessive use of a heating pad to treat cramps i have gotten brown spots on my stomach. this was over a year ago and are not gone. what do i do?

Need diagnosis: A heating pad should not cause brown discoloration on the skin that have lasted for over a year. A visit to a dermatologist either in person or though a virtual visit on healthtap  is advised. Once a cause is determined then a treatment plan can be designed.

i am a teenager and experience bad menstrual cramps. i treat with a heating pad. i've noticed brown spots on my stomach. what can i do to treat?

Meds: If you use a heating pad for the cramps, you may be causing a reaction in your skin area, even a minor burn, so you need to be careful.  There are meds that can help with your cramps.  Have a dr. Discuss medications for painful menstrual cramps and look at your brown spots on your stomach too.  Good luck.

: Spots is a very broad term. Are they flat or raised? Thin or thick? Red or white or what? Bo they blanch with pressure? Nummular in shape or irregular? Scaley? Below or above umbilicus? Do you wear anything that contains Nickel over where they are? Fleas or bedbugs?  Bedbugs tend to leave 3 bites in a row which we call breakfast, lunch and dinner. Keratoses: Keratotic (so-called "stucco") lesions are common on the  trunk and elsewhere on the body. They are not dangerous but certainly are annoying. Try an otc lotion, such as lac hydrin or amlactin, with Lactic Acid or salicylic acid in it, to soften the top layer of skin. If those lotions aren't strong enough a dermatologist can prescribe one of a number of stronger preparations.

Brown spots: Your child may have a fungus (pityriasis) of the skin. See your doctor for verification

i have these weird light brown spots under the breasts and on the upper stomach and neck. what could they be and how do i get rid of them?

Fungal infection: More than likely you have a superficial fungal infection called tinea versicolor.  

Treat with otc antifungal creams such as lotrimin or micatin (miconazole) twice daily for four weeks then retreat one day a month to keep it from recurring.    If this does not work see your dermatologist.
