Bruising ; swelling: Usually with a break, there is bleeding from the bone which leads to swelling and bruising to the toe and surrounding area.  This is not always the case, but when i see this, i always take an x-ray to see.  There is some degree of pain when the toe is moved at the site of the injury.

Very little: Whether broken or sprained, an injury to the little toe is treated with conservative measures: taping, wearing stiff soled shoes to prevent bending, and taking some over the counter anti-inflammatories.  What you get out of the xray is a prognosis: you'll know how long it takes to heal. A week or so for a sprain, 3 weeks or so for a fracture.

Targeted blocks.: First of all the problem, as you describe it, may not be an inter digital nerve compression. The problem could also be a nerve compression or dystrophy of the sural nerve. By targeted nerve blocks to various levels of either nerve, there is a good chance of isolating the area of entrapment. The quest may take a couple of visits but it seems to me to be the most straight forward.

: You describe the possibility of have an infection to your nails. In the past it has been thought of a fungal infection but now recently been shown also bacteria with the fungus infect the nail. You can see your doctor and get a prescription for anti-fungal orally taken here in the United States I would say see a podiatrist. You can try topical antifungal and file the  nail down but very difficult

Yes, get it checked: Most of the time the treatment for a broken toe is a hard soled shoe so that there is minimal bending of the toe. However, you need to be seen to make sure it is a break that does not require a surgery or some other procedure. See a doctor as soon as possible. You need an xray.
