Screw removal time: Usually removal of older fixation screws in the ankle is a simple procedure and recovery is fairly easy as long as your bones are healthy.  After the screws are removed, it is prudent to use a CAM walker for about 2 weeks to allow the bones to recover any strength lost from the openings that remain.  Pain after removal is usually minimal from the skin incisions.

possible new fractur: If you are an avid runner or exercise with a lot of impact activities, you may have a new stress fracture. This may or may not be related to your prior fracture, training errors, biomechanics of your legs, etc. See your physician to start with x-rays.

Broken ankle: Sounds like you need to see an ankle specialist.

You should not be swollen at this point. 
You may need the hardware removed as well as repair of your ankle ligaments.

Slipped meniscus?: Hard to be certain but we call this internal derangement of the knee. In this case you may have cartilage that slips about. You will need an evaluation  and imaging to clarify this.

Possible soft tissue: I have seen this many times. The ankle can become stiff and painful after a fracture. Sometimes it can be from a tendon or a ligament that was also damaged at the time of the fracture or it can also be from  a problems with the cartilage in the joint if the fracture involved the joint line itself. I am biased, but a physiatrist (physical medicine and rehab)  can evaluate and help with this.

i am 1 year post op for removing a screw that was put in for a broken ankle, and i still have pain when i walk for a long time. can therapy help?

Possibly: If the initial ankle injury involved the joint surface, pain can persist for a long time.  Anytime a joint is involved in injury it is possible for post traumatic arthritis to set in.  If no joint involvement then stability and functional issues can create pain, both of which are improved with physical therapy.  Bracing and orthotics can provide functional stability and pain reduction also.

broken ankle last year ..numbness on sole of foot and when i raise my toes it feels like block in paw of foot op block damaged nerve ..can it be fixed?

Yes: You need to be evaluated by foot and ankle surgeon. You need MRI. Depending on findings, it is possible to be treated as advanced techniques available.
