Maybe: If this is a paronychia (small area of pus at edge of nail) soaking may allow it to open and drain.  If it persists, gets red outside of that area, becomes increasingly swollen and painful, or have any systemic signs of infection (fever, chills, loss of appetite, etc.) see your doctor asap.

: If you are experiencing an infection of the nail and skin usually means the surrounding soft tissue is being inflamed and irritated causing a break in the skin thus an infection. See a podiatrist and have it cared for properly. Usually part of the nail needs to be removed and the cause needs to be determined

Abscess: An abscess is a collection of pus in the body.  Signs would include, swelling, redness, pain, and possible drainage.  If you are concerned, i would advise you to see a podiatrist.  Bad infections can require antibiotics.

: It might take a few more days. However, paronychia inflammation isn't necessarily due only to infection. You might require minor surgery to drain it and remove the corner of your nail. See your doctor if it isn't better after another week.

It's : It's hard to say without examining you whether you actually have an infection, an abscess, or just an overgrowth of granulation tissue from the ingrown nail.  If your primary care doctor is unable to help you, you may want to contact a podiatrist in your area.  If needed, they can cut out the piece of the nail that is ingrown - sometimes at the root of the nail - and apply a medication to stop the nail from re-growing in that spot and becoming ingrown again.

In the meantime, make sure you are soaking your toe in warm water 2-3 times a day for 20 minutes at a time.  If it is worsening instead of improving, or if you have increased redness, swelling, pain, drainage, or fever, call your doctor immediately.

Would: See a podiatrist and your regular medical doctor. Make sure you are tested for diabetes, not just treated for this.

Need to examine: Abscess is unlikely. It may be a stress fracture. It would be prudent to see a doctor as it is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you.
