Medicine first: After being tests for h. Pylori bacteria, i would suggest a week week course of ex ppi( proton pump inhubitor) i.e. Nexium, (esomeprazole) omperazole, zergrid etcc- your GI can due furhter blood and imaging tests as well as upper endoscopy.

Reflux: The treatment of GERD includes avoiding caffeinated products, not eating within two hours of bedtime and avoiding spicy foods. Drink fluids and try a proton pump inhibitor over the counter, unless otherwise indicated by your physician. If you continue to have shortness of breath though other causes should be ruled out.

Not typically: If in fact you have a typical viral gastroenteritis it is unlikely that it will also effect the lungs. Many bacteria/viruses have a predilection for certain body organ/tissue and so it is not likely.  It is possible that you are experiencing abd pain due to deep inspiration and the diaphragm is coming in contact with irritated abdominal contents

Hello. : Hello. You can try drinking slightly flattened ginger ale or eating crystalized ginger. You can make ginger tea by pouring boiling water over freshly sliced organic ginger and allowing it to steep for at least 5 minutes. This will not stop the pain in the esophagus. However, it may help to quell the stomach, from wince the gastric juices arose.

Need reassurance: It's normal to be concerned about your health, and to worry why you feel bad.  Whatever the cause, you're appropriately anxious.  Further testing may alleviate your concern, particularly if/as "bad things" are ruled out and your test results repeatedly prove negative. Of course, another medical opinion may be helpful too.
