Unfortunately: The obvious cause is smoking.  The repeated sweating is caused by dysfunction in the autonomic nervous system.  This is a nervous system controlled by the lower part of the brain.  Smoking causes oxygen deprivation in brain cells, resulting in unwanted activity.

See a MD for exam: You need to see a MD for an exam that can differentiate "sweats" from peri menopausal issues , thyroid disorders, and infection.

Hard to say: Symptoms you describe could be due to many things, better to get checked with pcp, a thorough physical should help.

I do not know: What did they tell you in the ED? Did they do any tests.  A severe UTI can cause blood, kidney stones, lacerations, prostate issues, nephritis, cystitis, urethritis, etc. etc.  You need an evaluation if the Blood continues and you were never diagnosed yet.  Good luck.

Infection: Probably infection in bronchial/lungs. Need x-rays and CRP, CBC.

Hypertension: Hypertension of this kind needs medical evaluation.  Consider pheochromocytoma with the presence of cold sweats.

Sweats: Could be nothing but need to look at his medication list and do some routine blood tests to rule out serious causes. See your PCP as soon as you can

Hard to say!: If you have started using a new soap, detergent, fabric softener, scented skin care products, inc. perfumes or colognes, sunscreen, or any new product at all, this may be a localized reaction due to it so stop it.  An allergy to a food, supplement, or medicine will usually cause in more than one place.  Does it itch, burn or hurt?  Do you have a fever?  Lots of possibilities, here.
