98.6 degree F (37.0): Normal body temps are close to 98.6 degrees fahrenheit. (37.0 degrees centigrade).  Ear temperatures are usually a 1/2 or 1 degree lower than normal and fevers are usually described as > 100.4 f (>38.0 c). Contact your doc if your temp is over 101 & especially (since it's flu season) if you also have cough, ha, or sore throat.  Anti-viral meds are helpful especially if you test pos for swine flu.

YES: Ear thermometers when used correctly can be quite accurate. There are some limitations, . It is not as good in infants due to their ear canal size . But in older children and teens and adults it is great.

Check the setting: Some of these thermometers allow you t set the readout as oral vs rectal and program in an extra degree for the rectal setting. It may require reading through the instructions that came with the product to reset it.

what makes ears feel full?

Pressure: Partial blockage of the eustacian tube which runs from the side of the back of the throat into the middle ear.  When this happens it creates a sensation of fullness.  You can try relieving this by thrusting your lower jay forward and your head back, or by holding your nostrils and blowing against a closed mouth (but be very careful with this), or use a nasal spray or decongestant or a sinus rinse.

Possible infection?: If this is something that is new for you it sounds it might be associated with an infection especially if you have discharge and/or pain associated. Get seen by a doctor in order to take a look and final diagnosis and treatment.

It's probably wax
try some ear drops to soften things up. It may fall out on its own.

Don't use qtips. You may puncture your ear drum and lose your hearing.

Tinnitus.: Didn't see your age or whether this is one sided, but....It needs explanation.  Most tinnitus is bilateral and associated with significant noise exposure and age. Some medications can cause this but again both sides.  See your doc and have an audiogram.
