Second, how much blood and what was the cause and what level or care did the child receive?  Answers to these predict a range of lt effects from none to seizures to cognitive and/or comportmental abnormalities to hydrocephalus.  And any of these issues can range in severity.

As much as 20 % of white matter is lost if the adhd person does not get a stimulant. That is emphatically why the amer acad peds recommends all children be treated with a stimulant medication.

Bad disease: Pneumococcal meningitis is a terrible disease.   I have seen children die within hours of the diagnosis.  Those who survive often are left with severe brain damage.  Many are left with cerebral palsy, mental retardation, and epilepsy.  I would hope that your child received quick and appropriate treatment and was saved from much of the serious damage.

i had chemotherapy 23 years ago. what could be some long term effects. i also had radiation to hole brain.i think i had 10 to the brain. hair did not?

It depends on a lot: It depends on your diagnosis, the type of chemo drugs used and the amount of radiotherapy given.If you are doing well 23 years since this happened, now is hardly the time to worry about it unless you have any new symptoms. Most side effects would have manifested by now. But if you have new symptoms, go see your oncologist for check up.
