Primary brain tumors are not staged, because they rarely spread.  Prognosis is based on age, location, histology, functional status, extent, etc

the end stages of brain cancer are difficult.  Most of the time it involves altered mental status (confusion and forgetfulness).  There are be seizures, headaches, paralysis, visual loss, and then a comatose state.  A lot of the symptoms depend on where the tumor is located in the brain. At the very end brain herniation may occur and breathing will be erratic, then stop.

Other symptoms include focal heurological deficit, like vision changes, headache from focal irritation of pain sensitive areas (lying down).
