Form & repetition: Learn and develop good form. On toes, back straight, head straight, even with back. Hands flat, out from and even with shoulders. Practice lowering until chest almost touches floor and raising until elbows straight. Do slowly to develop form and strength. Then practice going faster, but maintaining form, to get repetitions. Practice in am and again in pm. Start slowly and build. You will improve.

exercise after lap: Ask your surgeon, but in general with lap, 6-8 weeks is a safe period.

Conservative: Ankle sprains unless severe and associated w/ significant instability can be treated w/ bracing and physical therapy.

i am a 45 year old female weighing 145 lbs that has always been active. i have started bootcamp classes within the past month. my resting heart rate is 68 bpm and 196 bpm during intense workouts. is that a something to be concerned about?

: You're exceeding the recommended target heart rates for vigorous exercise in your age group. Those rates are between 146 to 160 or so. If you're physically fit your heart rate quickly slows within the first minute and should return to your normal resting rate in about  7-8 minutes.  You should note significant improvement in fitness after 4-6 weeks but longer for peak fitness.These are guidelines.

i have arthritis in my knees, i am 21 years old, exercise regularly (including bootcamp twice/wk) i don't want to take tylenol (acetaminophen). advice?

Arthritis in knees: Are you sure you have arthritis or do you mean pain? Arthritis is unusual in a 21 year old unless you had an injury to the knee. Most knee pain in young people is treatable and you may want to see your doctor to get the correct diagnosis. It could be runners knee which is treated by quadriceps strengthening exercises which are essentially strait leg raises with some weight on your ankles.

NTD: Core body temperatures do not rise significantly with exercise, so you should not be at risk. It is much more important to take your folic acid and stay away from hot tubs.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Sometimes there are genetic predispositions in family lines - that doesn't mean that offspring will necessarily develop a particular condition.
