Torus palatinus?: It's possible that this is a torus palatinus, however they are usually midline and can grow  very slowly.   If it starts to cause you pain or it continues to grow you should have a physician looks at it.

Abnormal: This bony mass needs to be evaluated by an ent. Anything that has increased in size needs to be checked and anything that is asymmetric, or only on one side, needs to be checked.

Anatomy: There are many normal  irregularities on the surface mucosal tissues covering the boney hard palate. For example, Google rugae. But abnormal lesions ae possible. When you go for your regular Dental appointments does your Dentist mention anything out of the ordinary? Without being able to see, touch, x-ray your palate, best suggestion is see Thor Dentist for an evaluation.

See your dentist: Depending on the source of the abscess, treatment will vary. Being in the palate makes it close to the eyes and the brain. You should take this seriously.

Up to two weeks: The palate is a highly sensitive and sensory area of the mouth.  Scrapes, lesions or injuries are painful and slow healing.  They are easily bumped or abraded extending the soreness.  Topical medication that can hasten healing or numb the area can be obtained at the pharmacy.  Your dentist can help to recommend the proper meds.

Hard bump palate: Without looking at your mouth it could be a lot of things. If in the middle of the roof of your mouth, it could be a palatal torus--a boney protuberace on the suture line of the palatine shelves.  Best to check with your local dentist and have a complete exam.
