Be patient: Tooth extraction is a surgical procedure and is not completely risk-free. Pain, swelling, bad breath and infection following surgery is usually at its worst 24 – 48 hours after surgery. After that it should subside more and more every day and after 7 days stop. Alternate Vicodin with NSAIDs OTC (e.g. Advil) to manage the inflammation. Good luck.

it's been almost two months since wisdom teeth extraction and bone graft, and i started having very bad ache inside my left jaw. my dentist took an x-ray and said everything looks fine. if a dentist can't help me,which doctor should i see?

: The pain may be coming from another tooth. Sight unseen it is hard to say. If tooth/graft related your dentist can examine you and refer you to the appropriate specialist. If it is neurological in origin then see a neurologist.

one periodontist said he could not place bone graft material after extraction since bucal wall broke. new perio. said he could have. what gives here?

Not sure...: There are different types of bone grafting material that can be used to augment a ridge like yours. Used together with biological membranes the procedure is quite successful. Not sure why you first periodontist felt  this would not work in your situation. If your new periodontist feels they can remedy the defect, then allow them to do so.

Not required...: If you want to support the gum tissue or for to support an implant in the future, then it's a good idea.

Not much: Mostly just chance of rejection of the graft but even that is not much.  Talk to your provider.  It is done to maintain bone structure and can be very helpful if an implant is planned.

Hard to understand: It is hard to understand your question... dry socket paste on gauze is placed after an extraction where dry socket has occurred... usually not a problem after a bone graft. Gelfoam can be placed in a fresh socket to act as a matrix for the blood clot. Please discuss your concerns with your dentist.

extraction: If you are asking how long it takes to do the procedure, assuming it is uncomplicated, then the answer is somewhere around an hour give or take a little.  If you are asking about how long the healing takes then there are two answers.  The gum tissue heals quickly, about two weeks and the bone filling in underneath takes about 3 - 4 months, sometimes longer.
