Yes: The cyst is probably not from the fracture but was there and broke through three years ago. A splint will make you more comfortable while awaiting surgery.

dx. from x-ray- bone cyst on dominant left hand -scaphoid and may have cracked. been in a brace for three weeks. i fell 12/9/22 & how long does it take for the wrist/thumb not to be achy? and should i get an mri if it continues?

: Scaphoid fractures are commonly caused by falling onto an outstretched hand. There is poor blood supply to the bone, and healing can take 6 weeks and beyond, requiring immobilization with a splint/cast. Repeat imaging can show whether healing is adequate. CT scans provide more 3-D information than plain films. An ortho or hand-specialist can determine prognosis after initial immobilization fails.

i have a intracessous lunate bone cyst that is growing. it was found six months ago after my wrist would not stop hurting. what happens next?

Get checked by Ortho: Any cyst  that is growing and causing pain in the bone requires consultation with an Orthopedic surgeon. Some such cysts turn out to be giant cell tumor of the bone and may need surgical intervention. Most are treatable provided they are not too big...so get it checked while it is still small(?what size/dimensions is this cyst??).

No: A spur is a protruding spicule of bone that forms from excessive pressure, trauma, or tension at insertion of tendon or ligament. A bone cyst is a  cyst or cavity in a portion of the bone.

Inside bone/tendons.: Bone cysts r contained inside the bone, any where from simple benign @ malignant and need watching. Spurs r at the edges of the bone as in arthritis, or in response 2 tendinitis where a  tendon attaches. As patellar tendinitis or where ligaments attach as in heel spurs ( planter fasciitis). Treatments  r different 4 each & multiple 4 each. B followed & rx'd by an orthopedic surgeon.

Yes, if...: Bone cysts can cause persistent pain if the cyst has weakened the bone or caused it to fracture. Persistent pain in the region of a known cyst requires repeat imaging.

Depends: upon where the avulsion fracture occurred!
For example in a "strong bone" such as the fibula (ankle ) avulsion  a small cyst is probably not significant! However in a FINGER its very significant since it can weaken the bone!
Consult with your ORTHOPEDIST for a more informed 
and exact diagnosis/prognosis

This is a common: Incidental finding, usually of no concern.
