Saphanous vein. : Saphanous vein is a superficial vein. Normally we don't anticolate clots in the saphanous vein. Even if the vein was stripped with a clot within it. It can theoretically be pushed forward during the stripping process depending on the technique used.

i had blood drawn 5 days ago. have a quarter size bruise. 2 days ago i noticed the elbow below the vein puncture was also discolored like a bruise, no injury there. yesterday my arm began to hurt and still does? complications?

: The discoloration at the elbow area was from blood that dripped down from a punctured vein. This alone shouldn't cause pain unless superficial phlebitis developed in the injured vein. Can you trace pain to the vein that was punctured? If phlebitis developed it should be tender&amp; treated with warm applications. Swelling of the arm or worsening pain or redness would indicate a visit to your MD

Heart: Heart is not typically affected in DVT and does not need to be checked, unless it is believed that a concomitant, not related, heart condition is present. Pulmonary embolism is a notorious, deadly sometimes, complication of DVT and that can cause heart strain.

hi, i'm 29m with v leiden factor, 2 dvt's, varicose veins and on xarelto. am i at higher risk of developing complication du to neither covid-19 or it's vaccines? i want to get vaccinated but is it safe regarding my condition? thank you very much?

: Blood clotting complications are fairly common with COVID-19 infection, and Leiden V probably increases that risk. One vaccine (Astra Zeneca) has a small increased risk of thrombotic complications, but few or no reports for others (e.g. Pfizer, Moderna). Your thrombosis tendency is a reason to be vaccinated, not to avoid the vaccine. Check with your personal physician to be sure. Good luck.

Regular flow is 20 to 40 cm/s.  This is measured by ultrasound. The ultrasonographer takes a cross section of your portal vein and are able to measure flow. You are flowing, but your rate is slower at 9.2 cm/s

connective tissue: Veins (in the hands, especially) tend to be fixed only at branching points.  Tough connective tissue holding them in one place is only present in certain anatomical locations.  In the rest of the hand and arms, the veins may "roll" or move through the tissue plane they are in.  This is totally normal.

If you damaged a vein you would see that blood flow is continuous while if you damaged an artery the blood flow would be pulsatile.
