Hepatitis B.: It will be helpful if you give the specific tests that were done. There are several different test we do to determine if someone is infected, immune or is cured from hepatitis B virus infection.

Very very small: Modern treatment of Immune Globulin products has pretty much eliminated fear for hepatitis or hiv.   However one is always concerned over prion which is a particle not degraded by alcohol or heat and can cause a severe neurologic condition. However I have not heard of a single case of this condition induced by immune globulin. Thus there is a risk which is as remote as being struck by lightning.

Still protected: If you had the complete series of hepatitis B virus vaccine, i.e. all three doses, then you are protected, even with low HBs antibody. No booster is needed. Don't worry about it.

Need clarification: What do you mean your recent blood test shows hep b? Do you mean it shows presence of the virus? Or do you mean an antibody to the virus? If you actually have the virus (which would be unusual if you were vaccinated), a vaccine will not work.

Person vaccinated?: A person is vaccinated against HepB after birth. The vaccine prevents liver cancer that HepB causes, and prevents HepB infection. If a person is not vaccinated, he can call his doctor to ask about the vaccine. A person living with a HepB carrier should have a blood test every 5 years or so, to check the level of immunity (from vaccine) against HepB. HepB is not transmitted via soap or handwashing.

Yes: Some people get immunity once they get infection and clear it. They usually have not only antibody to surface antigen but core also.

Hepatitis B: Many people these days have been vaccinated against Hepatitis B, and such immune status appears as positive Hep B surface antibodies on their blood test. If your test was negative for surface antibody, then you are considered not immune to Hepatitis B.  If you have never been vaccinated against Hep B, ask your doctor about getting the vaccine.

Beer: one has no correlation with the other you can still develop alcohol induced hepatitis if you drink very heavily.
