Must state that most have permanent brain injury to a variable extent.  Currently, use EEG activity to follow your friend, discuss option of surgery or shunting &amp; curtailing brain pressure. Only in rare cases where there is hole septum of heart can it travel to brain or other organs of body. Usually patient survives with proper treatment but can die if no treatment is given.
