Pelvic ultrasound: Ultrasound cannot predict when your period will start. If there was something seen inside the uterus right before an expected cycle, it could be a blood clot. It could also be something else. What was seen could certainly be blood or debris indicating the beginning of a period, but I would encourage follow up to be certain that something else is not going on inside your uterus.

No: Passing clots during menstruation does not mean that a woman can not become pregnant.

Depends: Bleeding in early pregnancy is common - about 1/3 of women may have some degree of bleeding. It is important to establish that the pregnancy is in the uterus and not an "ectopic pregnancy " which can be life-threatening. A sonogram will help establish the location and health of the pregnancy. It may also be able to determine the source of the bleeding. One's blood type should also be checked.

Not normal please: Call your OB now if you are early that usually means you are having a misc., if later please call your OB asap, as that usually means a placental abruption or placenta previa both of which are emergencies.

Not recommended: Aspirin is prescribed for some very specific issues in pregnancy; however, its not recommended for general use.  In the first trimester, aspirin use is concerning for increased pregnancy loss and even congenital defects.  In the third trimester it can cause premature closure of an important vessel in the babies heart.   You shouldn't use it unless you are prescribed it by a doctor.  Best wishes!

Not sure, get check: You should see your doctor today.  A little spotting, especially after intercourse is not unusual in pregnancy but passing clots is not normal and you should see your doctor or go to the local hospital.

Not a cyst cause: In general, an ovarian cyst does not cause vaginal bleeding during pregnancy.  The usual causes would be an issue with the placenta, a growth on the cervix, premature labor, for instance.  You need to clarify with your doctor what the cause of the bleeding is to know how to treat.  However avoid intercourse, heavy lifting or exercise for now would be reasonable.

Possible miscarriage: A beta HCG of 12 is extremely low. There's a great possibility that this was a biochemical pregnancy.

Accepted Answer

Not likely: If healthy, and you eat well, keep active, take prenatal vitamins and have regular prenatal checks, while pregnant, you are not at risk for clots or pre eclampsia. Also, your chances of dying are about zero. Would you like to have a baby? Are you afraid? Looks like you have done some research. Why not talk to your dr about your concerns. Good luck to you.
