for the last few years, one of my nostrils is always blocked, but they switch back and forth. it's not always the same one. how can i cure it?

Nasal Saline: What you are describing is classic nasal congestion, usually allergic.  Everyone has a "dominant" nostril, and this switches back and forth every 4-6 hours.  The other nostril is typically not completely blocked, but is a little tigher.  If you have baseline allergies, this can be a little more bothersome.  Sometimes nasal steroids (flonase, etc) are needed, but try saline spray first.

Common cold?: A viral cause is the correct answer 99 percent of the time. This can be managed with warm salt water rinses of the back of the mouth and acetomenophen if necessary. Fever may cause uneasiness and back ache, but to be certain, go see a doctor! any uneasiness may be a reason to seek help in person, as the general symptoms you ask about may be leading to something more important than the common cold.

WAY oversimplifying: Weight gain with antipsychotics is poorly understood but probably has nothing to do with dopamine. May be 1 or more other receptor types, including histaminic H1, serotonin 2A &amp; 2C, muscarinic M(3), &amp; adrenergic receptors. (Quiz later.) Receptor neurochemistry is INCREDIBLY complex &amp; subtle &amp; messing around out of ignorance with stuff like mucuna after stopping antipsychotics could be risky.

one of my nostrils always looks swollen in the back. when i get sick it gets completely blocked and the other one never does. why is this?

A bit unusual: Generally, nasal swelling will switch sides so that one side is more congested, but the side that is more congested alters.  If congestion is due to local infection (sinus infection for example), then the swelling may remain unilateral. There may be a polyp on the one side, which may be visible on exam or by ct scan.  more background information would be helpful.

my husband was diagnoised with diverticulitis, 2mon. ago. he is having sharp pains in his lower back and he has pain in his lower left side, a feeling like something is blocked or going to burst inside?

See a doctor: He may have a new bout of diverticulitis. Also, scarring of the colon from diverticulitis can cause enough narrowing of the colon that it blocks up (obstructs). Your husband needs to be reevaluated.

Yes: It os possible that intestinal obstruction can cause back pain but there are numerous far more likely causes of back pain.

See a doctor: You likely have an infection.  I would recommend seeing a doctor.  Probably need an antibiotic.

could an unconscious person's airway become blocked if they were being carried? or does this only happen if they're lying on their back?

: It would be possible. Untrained persons should make an effort to keep  the head &amp; neck straight with the torso and not allow it to flex forward while carrying anyone is such a state. They should also designate one person to constantly monitor the airway/breathing activity.

hi i had endoscopic turbinactomy 4 days back and still have blocked nose and pain, what will be the recovery time?

Turbinectomy: Hello, i usually inform my patients that a blocked up nose is to be expected after this surgery. I see my patients back in the office 1 week after when i begin to clean out some crusting, stabbing and blood clots. Within a few days your pain and blockage should improve. I use dissolvable packing in the nose and have patients use a saline spray every 1hour while awake. Good luck with your recovery.

i can always pop my ears, at will, they always feel blocked. but once i've popped them then i swallow, it goes back to normal. what is this?
