: You likely have GERD (GastroEsophageal Reflux Disease).
There are some tips to alleviate the symptoms: avoid the foods which exacerbate symptoms, avoid supine position within 2 hours after meals, raise the head of your bed with at least 2 bricks, taking PPI (over the counter) such as Prilosec OTC, Omeprazole, Prevacid or Nexium (see their label for instruction) for 2 months.

Heartburn?: there are a lot of things that can cause these kind of symptoms, but they sound like they could be due to heartburn. If this is not a chronic problem, you could try to treated symptomatically it first. Initially, I would try Tums, (calcium carbonate) 1 to 2 tablets when you have the symptoms, to see if it helps. If this becomes a more chronic problem, a more systematic approach may be necessary. Good luck.

Go to ER: The symptoms you have listed could be trapped gas orAngina symptoms. This means that one of your coronary arteries (blood vessels to your heart) could potentially be blocked and affect the blood flow to your heart. It could result in you having a heart attack anytime. There could be other less alarming causes for these symptoms but you cannot take a risk and must go to ER without delay

IBS?: Not having the opportunity to interview and examine you, i can only go by what you have described. What caught my interest was your description of your stools. You said they were thin, and your rectum felt itchy. Pencil thin stools and the urge to defecate are the cornerstones of the symptom called tenesmus, which is very common in irritable bowel syndrome. Have you been given that diagnosis?

A lot of answers: There are many potential answers and you really need to see your doctor to get some studies.  Gluten sensitivity can cause some of your symptoms but there are many more common causes than gluten issue. As for your intestinal symptoms, try avoiding dairy for a couple of weeks to see if you may have lactose intolerance which is far more common then celiac.

Heartburn: Usually if your chest burn, it could be an issue with digestion.  Although whenever you have issues with your chest be sure to contact your dr to be evaluated.  Usually heart problems cause chest pressure or pain right under the sternum, but not chest burning.  The esophagus runs through the chest and if its irritated, it could give the feeling of burning.
