Maybe: Very difficult to say without an exam. An infection would typically have red skin around the site. Bleeding by itself doesn't necessarily mean there is an infection.  If you're concerned, see a primary care doctor for an exam, and proper evaluation. Hope this helps!

i started having pain on the inside of my nasal cavity. hurts when i touch the area from the outside of my nose. no bleeding, obvious sores or bump.

Most likely staph: It is most likely a staph infection of the hair follicles inside your nose. You can get some Bacitracin ointment over-the-counter and rub it inside your nostril a few times a day over the next few days and it should get better. If not you should see an ENT doctor for a more complete evaluation.

See your doctor: It is possible that a bloody nose will lead to vomiting blood-the color of the blood,the amount of blood,other symptoms or medical issues are all important to help determine what is going on. But whenever you vomit blood, you should be evaluated-because sometimes it is coming from your stomach or intestines. Bleeding from more than one site is concerning.

hi, i picked a spot on the outside of my nose about two weeks ago. it poured thin blood, dripping for a long time. it is difficult to stop it. it is very thin, almost like water. this has happened to me about 6 times since the initial. it is stopping quicker now, but still drips. should i be concerned?

Eval: If this bump/ lesion won't stop bleeding, get it medically checked out. I am not sure what it is - Pyogenic granuloma?

hi my 3 year old fell at school and hit his head on the floor. left nostril was bleeding. theres no bumps yet just bruising. nose stop bleeding. teacher said he was fine he is napping now though. should i take him to dr?

Head trauma: Just need to observe x 1-2 days. Emesis, head pain or swelling or a change in
alert status warrants an MD visit. Otherwise, rest, Tylenol for pain or fever,
and observe at home. Glad the nosebleed stopped quickly, common in kids in general.

4 yr old son has small red bumps around nose and on cheeks. same bumps on buttocks, painful bowel movements with some bleeding. any thoughts? strep?

Strep unlikely: This does not sound like strep. It is hard to make the diagnosis without seeing what the bumps look like. There are a lot of different things which could cause bumps on the cheeks and buttocks. I would recommend seeing a doctor, especially since your son has bloody stools. Good luck!

Maybe: If you have trouble with persistent headaches, any instability, behavioral abnormalities or are getting worse you may have a concussion or worse.  If the bleeding is controlled you need to decide if the cut is large enough to need sutures.

Laceration: He needs a tetanus shot. The laceration needs to be evaluated to see if it needs sutures.
