im 3 months post partum and i have internal hemorrhoids that are prolapsing with every bowel movement regardless of straining. ive been to 2 colorectal docs who dont seem concerned but this seems serious. today i have a dull pain in rectum. ?

Hemorrhoids: Although uncomfortable this is unfortunately a common problem seen post-partum. I would suggest working on stool softening regimen and bowel habits to reduce prolapsing. If this continues then I would suggest going to nearby academic center to find colorectal surgeon comfortable handling your hemorrhoids as these could potentially be banded in an outpatient setting. No urgent surgery required now.

Question 2

is it normal for internal hemorrhoids to prolapse and return inside after every bowel movement? or will this eventually stop? im 38 and 3 months post partum. i sometimes have pain in my anus at the end of the day - is that the hemerroids?

If painful: and persistent,  probably time to seek treatment, with your doctor.

recovering from a 3rd degree tear with lack of control over gas and bowel movement. i'm 8 days postpartum. would i ever get control back or should live like this for the rest of my life?

Recovery very likely: Complete healing can take 3 - 6 weeks, by which time original control should have returned. In mean time, try to keep stool soft with high fiber diet including plenty of fruit &amp; vegetables. Suppliment with commercial stool softener from Pharmacy, if necessary

Hungry baby : I would recommend that you speak to your doctor which the baby is probably seen after one week. But sound like a normal baby. One week old babies have small stomachs so they eat very often. I suggest you read What to Expect the First Year: Edition 3.

Scarring: There could be some scarring in the posterior cul-de-sac, the area between your vagina/uterus and the rectum/colon. That is, that when you have a bowel movement, it could be pulling on scar tissue.  It's common to have pain in the area following giving birth, so hopefully this pain will dissipate with time.  In the meantime, might consider using MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) or generic equivalent to help ease movements

Yes: If you stop taking birth control then it is expected that you would trigger a menstrual cycle. The simple solution is to restart your depo-provera shot.

Possibly: Rectal bleeding has a number of possible causes. Some are quite benign but others can be very serious. Possible causes include hemorrhoids, fissures, fistula, inflammation or infection of colon or cancer. Best to have an eval its more than a one time occurence.

Multiple causes: Anorectal disease, such as hemorrhoids, fistula, or fissure, and , of course, benign or malignant growths. You could also have bleeding from a small bowel abnormality called meckel's diverticulum. Other causes include diverticular disease or inflammatory bowel disease. If the blood is dark and not red, it could come from the upper GI tract, such as the stomach.Please seek an evaluation. Good luck.
