Stay inside: Seriously, the best defense is to stay away from them.  By that i mean avoiding twightlight hours, and areas where they thrive. Second best is wear appropriate clothing, long sleeves, hat, long pants etc, and to use a otc insect repellant beforehand.  I have seen no concrete data that proves that diet, or other home remedies are effective.

I know of NO: Food or chemical to ingest to prevent flea bites. If you have fleas in your home:  wash everything fleas touch w hot water ; dry on high heat. Vacuum house several times.Empty vacuum bag outdoors ; put disposable bag in 2nd sealable bag in outdoor trash can.
