Yes: There are a number of viruses that attack the sinuses and the respiratory system.  These viruses, like flu viruses, can cause headaches, swollen nodes and if it attacks the sinus, it can cause sinus symptoms and pressure pain.

: You need a work-up to determine what is wrong. What do your labs show, for example? The lymph nodes do not appear to be the cause of your symptoms since they are only mildly prominent. But, you could have one of them biopsied to be certain-a surgeon could do the biopsy or even an interventional radiologist. If that is negative, your doctor needs to keep looking for the diagnosis. Cancer spread ?'s: The described surgery (TAH, BS&amp;O, bilateral lymph node dissection, omentectomy) will provide tissue which is examined by a pathologist, and will indicate whether remote evidence of cancer is present, especially in the lymph nodes and omentum.  If the pathology reports are negative, is it not necessary to also undergo radiation, but future surveillance is also necessary.

They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.
