Dizzy: Dizzy is a non specific complaint and needs to be sorted out by your doctor. It sounds like you have been treating inner ear disease and should be better. Touching your tragus and experiencing pain is more typical of external ear disease. It is time to get a diagnosis and get properly treated. All the best.

i get allergic reaction due to surbex z multivitamin (zinc ,b ,c ,e) only single dose. dizziness with mild headache from 4 days. i am using betahistine dihydrochloride but it gives relief temporary and dizziness start again. please advise?

: My sense is that this wasn't a true allergic reaction or even an intolerance to that product. Your symptoms are not characteristic of an allergic reaction. If your symptoms don't resolve, see your physician or a neurologist for an evaluation &amp; advice. Any appropriate testing will be ordered. In the meantime, if you're getting relief from the betahistine, continue it.

Steroids: Some meniere's patients benefit from oral steroids and sometimes steroids injected behind the ear drum (transtympanic injection). You should also have a diet low in salt and avoid caffeine and alcohol. Consult your ENT doctor if you are having side effects from the medicines prescribed.

Ok with advil: I did not see interaction with advil. It is ok to use with advil. It is ok with Calcium-mag.

antihistamines or other beta2-agonists or monoamine oxidase inhibitors.

TMJ: Cracking sound that clears with anti-inlammatory meds may be Temporomandibular Joint Disorder.

Yes: Inhibition of the H3 histamine receptor can affect serotonin, acetylcholine and nor-epinephrine levels throughout the body. This can result in an assortment of symptoms. Sometimes shakiness can be due to the underlying condition for which the medication was prescribed.

Stop it: You get adverse reaction from a drug, it is a warning that you should not be taking it.  If you are taking it for nasal congestion from an allergy,  a nasal steroid will likely be more effective without the potential side effects of betahistine.

Possibly: In one published study, betahistine dihydrochloride was tested in 10 patients with a history of motion sickness.  The use of this drug was found to significantly improve the tolerance of treated patients to a defined scenario of motion sickness (matsnev et al: efficacy of histaminergic drugs in experimental motion sickness.  Journal of vestibular research, 2007, volume 17, pages 313-321).
