Yes, but unnecessary: Snap fissures heal well without specific intervention usually. Those that do not require surgery. Unless a specialist has instructed that you use betadine, I would avoid it as it can interfere with growth of new healthy cells as well as killing bacteria. Sitz baths a few times a day and a super gentle soap is all you need, possibly plus a soothing medicine for pain.

See doctor: You didn't state how you were bitten by the white eel, or if it's your pet. Apparently, the reason to see a doctor is to treat secondary infection with antibiotics. If bit through your skin, then bacteria can enter your blood. Most eels do not have clean teeth. So there is some concern for vibrio, or pseudomonas infection. So you need to have this looked at physically, especially if you have pain, swelling, redness.

Ointment: the mupirocin would be acceptable to replace neosporin.  However, I would still suggest betadine or a hard soap like cetaphil to keep the area clean.

hi there. ive gone to see a gynae and did all the blood tests to confirm that i suffer from candida. ive been given a  diffluzole tablet and betadine vaginal ointment. the problem still persists and i find the ointment burns and i have burn/itch?

Vaginal yeast: Confusing story. There is no blood test for candida. If you have it, fluconazole (Diffluzole is one brand) will cure it, but betadine doesn't help. Perhaps you're now having a reaction to the betadine, which is common. Stop using it and re-check with your doctor or clinc -- or maybe ind a new one. Good luck.

Throw away the neosp: Neosporin is not useful on wounds and may cause allergic reactions. Betadine may interfere with healing. Lots of water. Lubricate with vaseline or Aquaphor. Avoid bandages unless required for comfort.

Don't.: Betadine just like alcohol is used for "cleaning" the skin, prevent it from infection. If put on "rash", it might cause irritation/itching and make the "rash" worse.

Neosporin: Is less likely to hurt or to interfere with healing.  Just clean it as you were directed, then blot or blow dry, and apply the Neosporin as a protective and antibacterial cover.
