Same: Standards may be the same. The level of care may different, depending on procedures done, and level of expertise available. There are levels1-3, depending on the specialties available/how often are they available.

Fracture big toe-yes: A broken big toe should probably be seen, a lesser toe can be buddy taped. I do think most toe fractures should be x-rayed to see if the alignment of the fracture is good

hello. i'm having a pap & iud removal & new iud under general anesthsia at hospital due to history of trauma . my gyno reqrng misoprotrol. is there way to avoid taking this drug due to severe panic disorder? or other options avail other than drugs?

: Taking Misoprostol to facilitate IUD removal via cervical "ripening" may not be necessary if the procedure is going to be done "under general anesthesia".  With any manipulation of the uterus (removing and reinserting a "new" IUD) Misoprostol may make such less painful, but there will be sensitivity post removal/reinsertion.  Ask your GYN about low dose oral bcp's, instead of a new IUD.

hi. i've recently had a blow to my right cheek causing severe swelling and pain. i've been to the trauma unit at hospital had some xrays done. the doc said he cant see any fractures but i have terrible numbness and pain going down to to my teeth?

Trauma: Please see a specialist Oral Surgeon. Take a copy of your x-rays with you, or have the hospital send a digitized copy directly to the Oral Surgeon. Most Physicians are not equipped by training or experience to deal with problems that in crude the oral cavity.

will pyelonephritis go away by itself? i started ciprofloxacin for one day but left the hospital because i was treated badly by a staff member and i have a lot of medical trauma. ive still got blood in urine and left flank pain three days later?

: Pyelonephritis needs to be treated properly and seeing any provider, your primary care or an urgent care for example so that you can complete treatment is strongly recommended. Your health is the priority at this point.

my wife went to hospital last sunday,trauma and her exrays showed she had a lung infection. she has tested negative for covid. she has been taking the prednisone and vitamins however she is getting a cough early hours of the morning and this is givin?

Accepted Answer

Perspective: Likely, she had a "rapid" test, but these maybe false negative in ~40% of cases.  Best to repeat, but get COVID-19 PCR testing.  For time being, stay quarantined.  You do not mention antibiotics, but these may be needed if bacterial infection is present (which could  be a superimposed co-morbidity).  See your doctor in followup

Ask around: Best trauma centers are usually the 'bigger' hospitals, like university medical centers, and hospitals in bigger cities.
