Fungal infection ?: Your white spot can be a fungal skin infection or a condition called vitiligo. Young need to see your rary doctor or dermatologist

Be aware: While if images are optimal then perhaps a remote consultation may be adequate.  But to be honest, pigmented lesions that may be changing are often difficult to adequately image and often benefit from a visualization technique known as dermoscopy which requires very specific technology.

how can i tell if i have melasma? how will i know if the dark spot on my face is melasma or just a sun spot?

Melasma?: Melasma of the face is often in a butterfly pattern but may be spotty. If you only have one spot and it is growing, you need to see a dermatologist and get a biopsy.

if a sun spot turns red and itchy, may that signal that it may be cancerous?  i have an appointment to see my derm but wondering if it is concerning

Maybe: Any change in a pigmented lesion is cause for some concern, but it may simply have become irritated due to scratching or other trauma.  Your dermatologist will know, probably just by looking at it.

Moles?: Hi! Any brown spot can be a mole. Always remember, if a mole or any skin mark gets : A -- Asymmetrical
B -- Irregular borders . .C -- Multiple colors . D -- Diameter bigger than a pencil eraser . E -- Evolving, changing, or new- Get an  exam by a dermatologist .

Sun spot: Would be wise to have any pigmented lesion evaluated that changes size, color, or shape.  See a General Physician or Dermatologist.

i have dysplastic nevi syndrome, i had 2 very similar moles shave biopsied. how is it that one came back as a sun spot , one needed reexcision was mod?

DYSPLASTIC NEVI: Your dermatologist will advise you the result of the biopsy. If benign, reexcision is not needed.
