Many choices: You need to talk to your physician because there are many other issues we cannot cover. Since you have both depression renal failure and restless legs each needs specific diagnostic evaluation help answer your question.

No right answer: The best ssri is the ssri which works for you.  How do we figure that out?  Well: what worked before, or what worked for a close relative.  We try that first.  If that doesn't work, we try another.  If that doesn't work, an snri or a tricyclic may be next.  As far as overall efficacy, the ssri's are generally considered equal.

THE BEST: The best is the one that works. Even better is one like that without side effects (for you).
Cymbalta has had a lot of study and lots of use - generally works. Also sertraline. And with all of them you have to titrate up to the dose that works. 
Fluoxetine tends to work very quickly and the right dose and has the advantage of a 2 wk 1/2 life - that makes rebound reactions less likely when you stop.

Psychotherapy: There are many psychotherapeutic modalities that help with hypochondria (and other anxiety disorders). Speak to a psychiatrist who can evaluate you and suggest the best approach. In general, psychotropic medications (including ssris) work best coupled with therapy.

There isn't any one: specific SSRI that would work best. Any of the SSRI's could be beneficial.  A trial of medication can help to see if a particular one is effective for the person.

All SSRIs esp. Paxil (paroxetine): In my experience all the ssri&#x27;s -- prozac(fluoxetine), zoloft(sertraline), celexa(citalopram ), Lexapro (escitalopram), Luvox (fluvoxamine), and especially Paxil (paroxetine), either the plain or the cr,  all seem to lower libido pretty well. For many people it is an unwanted side effect, but in other cases it is the desirable effect. Good luck to you.

Celexa, Lexapro (escitalopram): Newer ssris include citalopram (celexa) and escitalopram (lexapro), which is related to citalopram; both are structurally different from other ssris and other currently available antidepressants.
Rec. Do not self medicate. See your physician for medication management.

They both can: Work well either alone or in combination. For more severe anxiety - i would select ssri over buspar (buspirone). But i think Buspar (buspirone) is a gem of a medication.
