Arnica Montana p/: For my radiesse/dermal filler patients with a tendency to bruise or who are concerned about bruising, I have them start taking arnica at least a day before treatment. Otherwise i give them a dose as we prep for procedure and direct them to continue on a regimen for about 5 days or as long as needed. We use boiron's arnica montana 12c and our patients have been happy with it.

Whoa: Please forgive my frankness. Especially at your age, the key to a man looking good is intensive and joyful exercising, not plastic surgery except to correct a real birth defect. With your history, please consider whether you might have body dysmorphic disorder, and any plastic procedure will leave you dissatisfied.

Smile lines: The only way I know is to choose different grandparents who did not get them.  Be happy they are smile lines and not frown lines. I would avoid trying to get rid of them as the cure can be worse that the problem.

1ml restylane (dermal fillers) in lip injected before yest. injector over injected they're sore, hard, huge. want to go to another injector to dissolve for best result?

Restylane- Patience: Restylane (dermal fillers) is an excellent filler.  However, it is "hydrophilic" which means that it attracts water.  That means that you will swell a lot for about 3 to 4 days, possibly longer if you get bruising too.

I would recommend patience and faith.  Allow a minimum of 2 weeks before you judge your result.  Then if you don't like them, return to your doctor to see what can be done. Dissolving is an option.

what's the best breast filler for a breast reconstruction? my surgeon is going to use a lat flap for my breast reconstruction, and he said i'll also need either implants or fat grafting to fill out the breast. is one better than the other?

Fat : Fat grafting can be used to improve the results of breast reconstruction with flaps and implants. There are really no other fillers that would be indicated for this treatment.

i had filler for my marionette lines for the first time a week ago. the dermotologist used one syringe1/2 on each side. i dont see much difference or improvement. does it take longer and should it look better with time. i spent $800?

: depends on how/why used and the technique of the injector.  sounds like you see some improvement. usually see something rather promplty but there is some changes over time for some fillers (that absorb some water) depending on the types of fillers and where used there can be varied effects.  talk w your provider if unhappy w results

Relaxation vs volume: Botox acts to relax the muscles that cause lines of facial expression (like the 11's &amp; crow's feet), leading to a smoothing of wrinkles.  Fillers act to replace lost volume, actually filling in the lines.  Botox is generally used in the upper face, fillers in the lower face (though there can be exceptions).
