Don't rush it: Many causes of alopecia.  First of all,  which side is he sleeping on?  Commonly, children rub their hair.   Wouldn't worry, wouldn't do anything at the present time.

Facial dryness: I would clarify the cause of the dryness first. Are you using a drying agent, alcohol based cleanser or over washing with soaps? There are medical conditions that can cause dryness such as hypothyroidism . See your primary care md or a dermatologist. Taking fish oil , omega 3 fatty acid may help bring a balance to your skin's oil content. Adequate hydration will bring turgor to your skin as well.

I'm pleased you: recognize this as a bad habit!  Of course, the BEST treatment is stopping the injury .... which you have already done.  Recurrent contusion (which you are inflicting with the rubbing) can result in the darker skin/hyperpigmentation and the red inflammation. Moisturize with soothing cream, possibly containing aloe. A mild OTC cortisone dream may also help. Keeping clean and moisturized is best.

Scientific Rx: Listen, Jake. Don't try to figure out why you have trunk acne. It's not a "hormonal imbalance", stress, hygiene, or anything lifestyle-related. It's you. It will eventually remit. Until then, you must manage it with a physician's help. Acne on the trunk will require a topical such as benzoyl peroxide plus usually a systemic antibiotic for a while. If you're offered isotretinoin, go for it. Cheers.

Ways to Improve Scar: If your scars are caused by acne, then the best thing to do is to get the acne cleared as much as you can, then talk to a board certified plastic surgeon. He/she can help you decide what course would be best. Treatments range from topical creams to chemical peels to dermabrasion or laser resurfacing. Each treatment has its own advantages and disadvantages, but the benefit can be substantial.

May need another: Acne scars are difficult, box car scars respond better tht the deep ice pick scars however its rare for a single fractional C02 treatment to resolve the scars. I imagine that some are flatter , less deep. Often 2-3 sessions are required and a result of 50% improvement is considered a success. If you don't want laser you can try a deeper chemical peel at a dermatologists office

Hair removal: It depends on hair color & skin type. Lasers are very effective for hair reduction (hair isn't actually removed, just miniaturized to where it doesn't show about skin surface) in the hands of a properly trained and experienced dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Gray, blond or red hair does not respond to laser treatment. Proper laser must be used for correct skin type which is determined before tx.

Washing your face: Washing your face regularly will cut down on the oil on your face and help prevent acne. Using a mild soap like dove works. If that fails, using something like neutogena acnebar may help . Washes with benzoyl peroxide will help but may irritate your skin.
