Deep wounds: Those are pretty deep wounds. You should probably be seen for these, which is what i would recommend. Use antibiotic ointment of your two choices. Cover with something clean and for goodness sake, get seen by a clinician.

Heel: You are right to be very careful with such a wound and you've started proper treatment. If you can't get to a clinic,minimize stress on that heel. Arrange comfortable padding. Switch to sterile gauze after warm soaks,patting dry,apply the antibiotic ointment,fix gauze with paper tape.White Sox.. Observe for pain,swelling,spreading redness,or pus formation which would require medical attention.

Could be.: When you say small patch of dry skin with a cut in it i wonder if you might have atopic dermatitis with a fissure.  Atopic derm would be better treated with a topical steroid after the fissure is healed, but if indeed you got cut the triple abx is ok.

If you have not seen a doctor, it sounds like now is good time to have it checked. You may need to have the wound cleaned out and dressed by a professional, or you may need other medical treatment. Also, if you have not had a tetanus vaccine in the last 6 years, it's time. Take care!
