Waste of money: If you don't have a biotin deficiency, which is very uncommon, taking a biotin supplement will do nothing for you. Biotin is needed for healthy hair and nails but it will not improve them if there is no deficiency. As it is water soluble, the body will not even store it so it offers no long-term benefit.

Not sure: Biotin deficiency can present with hair loss, so people assume that supplementation with biotin will help augment hair(and nail) growth.  But biotin deficiency is actually quite uncommon and it turns out that there is limited data in regards to the effectiveness of this supplement.  Dosage ranges are in the 2.5-5 mg/day range.  In the end, its unlikely to harm you but have realistic expectations.

Not harmful, depends: Biotin is very safe; there is no known toxic dose. Biotin combined with 600 mcg of chromium picolinate significantly reduces blood sugar in those with type 2 diabetes, but if you don't have diabetes you may not have any particular benefits.

Hair growth/skin: It is claimed to be good for hair growth and is also good for skin.It tends to keep the skin well hydrated from inside and that is good for the skin and stimulates the skin cells renewal process.But in some cases it has been known to cause acne or make it worse.

: You may take these vitamins in any order or all at once. More important is the reason for your wanting to take these. If you eating a balanced diet you do not need to take any of these supplements.

Multivitamins: I don't believe that the ingredients and their dosage will be harmful to you. The benefits, according to some,  are debatable, however. Nevertheless I favor taking a multivitamin daily.

is it okay to take iron pills (65mg) ,b6 vitamin (100mg) and biotin pills (5000mcg) together? or should i alternate them? i need the iron pills and i heard b6 helps with blood circulation, wanted to add biotin because of skin and hair benefits. thx!!

Iron: Iron supplements are best taken with food to avoid stomach irritation and add a stool softener daily to prevent constipation. I recommend taking the other supplements either before or after taking iron. Be aware that iron can make stools appear black. Your pharmacist can also advise you about your medications.

Though biotin is nontoxic, try getting it in foods instead ; see what your weight does!
