Red spots on arms: Could be eczema , fungal rash ( ringworm), bite, brouise    or beginning of low platelet (usually on more then arms)s  May consider  topical steriod and antifungal  and f/u with doc urgent care for CBC and platelet count.

Prob not Bed bugs: These are INTENSELY itchy, and typically occur on the legs though not always.  Without seeing the spots not possible to diagnose.  They could be bites.  If they are bruises they will go away. If they are tiny and red might be cherry angiomas.

See details: You won&#x27;t scar from insect bites. However, you do need to take steps to fumigate the place and get rid of the bugs. You need to speak with a pest control company.

Picture=1000 words: W/o a seasoned doctor taking a look or picture of the lesion, it is hard to say what it could be. A lot depends on answers to questions he/she may pose: do you have a new or old mattress? Do u use any chemical / cosmetics? Any medical problems that run in ur family? Any other signs/symptoms (weight loss, etc.)? It could be benign (insect bite, petechiae) or it could be a sign of something ominous.

A telltale  sign is linear track of lesions from sequential feedings – but that doesn't always occur. Bites are usually &gt;.

See below: Most insect which draw a blood meal though a bite will cause a local reaction with redness, swelling, warmth and itch.  It is often impossible to tell these apart, but bedbugs will often leave a straight line or repeat bites whereas other bugs like mosquitos, fleas, etc. May look scattered.  Fleas will often leave a series of bites too but not necessarily in a line.

Creases of furniture: Bed bugs hide under and near furniture. Look for apple-seed like insects or their reddish poop in the creases of bedding, floor board, near pillows, nooks of headboards etc.  
If you see them switch rooms and keep your luggage off the floor. If needed you can store your luggage in an empty bathtub.
