Not especially: This question almost always arises when NO OTHER LAB VALUE IS OFF. So, questions of liver failure, blood cancer, loss of protein are just not issues. Other serious things would have many other signs/symptoms etc.

A/G ratio: Normal range is 1.5 for adults. If this ratio is less than 1.0 then there&#x27;s a concern for cirrhosis, Ulcerative colitis, Kidney disease, multiple myeloma, and burns. There&#x27;s a lot of factors that can affect this test. For example dehydration may cause your albumin levels to be lower than normal and that can affect this ratio. I would follow up with your PCP regarding this result.

No: Ideally, this number should be around 10.  When it's mildly elevated, that means you are mildly dehydrated usually.  This can happen just from the fast before getting blood work done.  But as long as your BUN and creatinine themselves are normal, the ratio doesn't really mean much.

An examination is important.
