A member asked:

Why is a "nurse-patient ratio" important?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Patient care: I would compare this to a teacher:student ratio in classrooms for simplicity sake. It just allows for more attention and care to details - whether it's a smile or setting the forks on the dinner tray (on top of the clinical responsibilities that most patients will remain oblivious to).
