Talk with Dr: If you had chickenpox as a kid you are likely ok, but your lupus can play games with your immunity. Talk with your doctor about the exposure. There are some medications which can supress the varicella virus if you are susceptable;however, use of any such product should be discussed with the providers who know your case.

why is chickenpox really bad when youre an adult?

: Children have a robust immune system that is challenged daily by dozens if not hundreds of germs from finger to mouth activity. By adulthood, this stops and challenges decline. This may explain why kids are less effected by covid-19 and chickenpox. I know of 21-year old's that died with chickenpox. There is a vaccine that most kids received in the US when you were young, if not, you can get it.

can lupus flare cause headaches? i'm in a flare and also getting bad daily headaches with dizziness?

Daily headaches: Yes, the inflammation of the blood vessels can cause this.

i have a cold for 7 days is very bad in the mornings my buggers are with blood. i have lupus what can i take to get better?

Call your Doctor: Systemic lupus affects your immune system and ability to fight infections.   Many of the lupus treatments can also affect your ability to fight infections.  Blood could be related to disease and/or infection.  This problem should be addressed with your doctor who knows your medications, disease activity level, and may know about infection problems in your area.

alternative of plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) when taking it for lupus?  as i had bad sde affect from plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine)

See below: Alternatives are medications that suppress your immune systems.  If you were only on generic Plaquenil which is hydroxychloroquine, sometimes patients can be switched to brand name Plaquenil which can be tolerated better particularily if GI side effects occured.  It all depends on what side effects you explained on whether switching would work.  Talk to your doctor to see if this is an option.

bad fatigue interfering with daily activities for 3 weeks.have lupus but recent labs were normal showing no flare.i am normally very active.causes?

This could: be a viral syndrome&gt; (patients with Lupus do get viral infections at the same or slightly higher rate than the general population!) Do you have a fever?? Any contacts with people who were (are) ill??? Any travel??
Did recent labs include a CBC (Complete Blood Count) If so what was the White Cell count/Differential??

Not enough info: What do you mean by bad days and what specific issues do you mean? But yes, there can be occasional days with increased symptoms even if the control is otherwise good.

if ones lupus currently shows normal labs(other than high ana)does that mean they shouldn't have any bad lupus days or lupus symptoms & feel fine every day?

No: Lab tests are only one indicator of sle activity.  You and your doctor are the best ones to judge how active your disease is and whether your symptoms are related to sle or another cause.

have systemic lupus. viruses  trigger bad flare, get very ill where im unfunctionable & take a long time recover.i'm concerned if i would get covid.is it reasonable to ask to work from home to do my same job temporarily  to reduce exposure?

Yes: There are stay at home orders and it is advisable to self isolate. Your SLE places you at higher risk. A treatment plan should include Tamiflu at the onset of flu like symptoms. Follow CDC guidelines.
