Maybe: Most people say stomach when they mean any area in the abdomen. If the cck is infused/injected too quickly ...You can get a muscle spasm ...

i have been having stomach pain near the esophogus, was checked for gallbladder with a normal hida scan. is this most likely gerd?

Possibly: This could be gastroesophageal reflux disease (gerd). Usually symptoms worsens when lying down, particularly after a large late night meal.  Risk factors for men in particular are obesity, tobacco use and alcohol consumption, as well as dietary factors such as the intake of caffeinated beverages and foods. Symptomatic treatment with antacids and changing eating habits, may suffice.

had a hida scan w cck today and had a lot of stomach pain/bloating/tightness and nausea. does this mean a problem w my gallbladder?

Not necessarily: Need to wait to find out the results of the gallbladder function. It is normal to feel gas discomfort or cramping with the cck injection, especially if the injection is done quickly.

been having epigastric pain for years. had partial gastrectomy 2015 for stomach ulcers now pain is really bad again. having a hida scan, i dont have a gallbladder so not sure how it works. can anyone explain the procedure 4 some1 with no gallbladder?

: A HIDA scan,hepatobiliary iminodiacetic acid, uses a radioactive tracer to assess the function of the liver, bile ducts, and small intestine. The tracer is injected into a vein and travels through the bloodstream to the liver, where it is taken up by the liver cells and excreted into the bile ducts. The tracer then flows into the small intestine where it can be detected by a special camera.

What causes pain: Try to figure out what foods cause pain. What relieves pain? Antacids, tums (calcium carbonate)? Any vomiting, blood in stool? Best bet would be to see a GI doctor.

Many causes: of post-prandial pain, including gas.  But it could be gallstones, so it is best to have a doctor check you out.

Zoloft (sertraline): Yes it can  Zoloft (sertraline) is an SSRI and works on the serotonin receptors in the brain.  The gut also has serotonin receptors which may cause some discomfort or cramping.  If this is the case it should resolve in a few days

im  having  bad stomach pains after taking to many ibuprofens and i took pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) but it doesnt seem to work.how long should it take to work?

It may not: Pepto may not be strong enough to counteract damage done by the nsaid.  If the pain has worsened suddenly, consider visiting the ED for an evaluation as there is always risk of perforation or other emergent outcome. Also, better medications can be offered to promote healing of the stomach lining and for the pain you were initially treating.

Ulcers, gallstones: Abdominal pain associated with food is concerning for gastric/duodenal ulcers and/or gallstone trouble. Panreatitis is also a possibility. If u have not been able to eat/drink, u could be dehydrated and thus headaches/dizziness etc..Significant irritable bowel syndrome can do same, but usually this is a long-persistent issue. Pepcid/prilosec may help. I would consult doc. Good luck.

Endometriosis: There are a lot of reasons to have bad pain- it could be you have a hernia, and the strain is causing pain. You could have some internal issues like endometriosis. You could have adhesions. But this is not normal, and you will need to have a work up to determine what it is- because it could be treated.
