Bad breath: Bad breath could be several things including infection (typically bacterial), tonsil stones or reflux.  Bad breath could also result from sinus infection or even allergies.  Another cause could be dental caries (cavities) or even dental abscess (infection).  Each of these have specific symptoms that should give you some idea of where its coming from.  Infections should be treated without delay.

i constantly have a sore throat which results in bad odor coming from my mouth and thick saliva in the morning. ive become somehow used to the pain and the sounds my tonsils make on a daily. this started a couple of years ago, what is wrong with me?

Thick AM saliva: This biofilm in your mouth in the morning does contain bacteria which can account for the odor. Excessive dryness can predispose you to the thick saliva or even slime in the morning. I assume you don't smoke or have acid reflux. Sleeping with your mouth open and nasal congestion  add to saliva thickness.Drinking adequate amounts of water in the afternoon or evening may thin out your saliva.

Are you sick?: Do you have a sore throat? Do you brush and floss your teeth regularly? If you do try a mouthwash like listetene. Visit a dentist.

Abscess: A tonsillar abscess or a pus0pocket needs to be evaluated at your doctor's office urgently.

Bad breath may: Result from inadequate oral hygiene: food left behind can break down & cause odor. Tooth decay can also cause mouth odor. Sinus conditions with chronic drainage may add to problem. Infections of throat can cause bad smell as well. Brush teeth & tongue, floss daily; rinse with mouth wash. See fp about sinus/throat infection. See dentist for regular cleaning.

i have a bad smell coming from my nose when i exhale. it comes and goes randomly. it becomes more pungent when i am exercising. i notice that if i don't eat that the smell isn't as bad when i do. i feel that the smell is coming from my throat?

: Hello. Abnormal smells may be coming from nasal/sinus infection or from possibly food particles that become embedded within tonsil tissue. I’m assuming you haven’t had your tonsils removed. Saline nasal irrigation then follow with Flonase. I’d recommend doing this twice/day. Also gargle with water after every meal. This combo will help keep the airway mucus membranes clean and free of infection.

what are the removable, waxy "balls" that form in the back of my throat/sinuses (and smell really bad)?  why do i get them? how do i prevent them?

Normal: Those are small collections of food, bacteria nd other things that collect in the natural pockets of the tonsils and adenoids as part of your immune system and body doing it's thing. They are called "tonsil stones" and they do stink! best approach is good oral hygiene such as flossing, brushing your teeth (and tongue), staying hydrated and perhaps a mouth wash if you are really concerned.

Zenker's: Zenker's diverticulum is a condition to rule out. Consult your dr about it.

Sounds like you: have chronically INFECTED tonsils!!

Check with your Primary Care Provider who may want to refer you to a Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon since if they are chronically infected and large  REMOVAL may be the answer!

Meantime  Gargle with warm  SALT WATER!

Infection: sore throats are usually due to viral infections.  strep throat is a bacterial infection.  sometimes a strep throat has a characteristic smell.  also I have seen pt with sore throat due to a sinus infection with post nasal drip and this can cause bad breath as well.  a visit to a doctor can get better idea by a appropriate exam.
