can you use bactine for vaginal fissures?

Why fissures?: I don't know a lot of details about why you have fissures--but a great trick is something thicker--like a diaper cream (boudreaux butt paste or desitin).  Vaginal estrogen cream can help but that would require a prescription.  Good luck!

Of course: Will help reduce infection risk--may sting just a wee bit, but builds character (?) ;) not a bad idea.

: Certainly this would not be harmful. It's less certain it will still be effective -- probably, but maybe not.

Depends: Have you had a recent tetanus shot? Also how deep did it go and are you having any pain swelling or redness? You may want to get seen or make a consult appointment so I can look at it and talk more about what to do.

i tripped and fell on the sidewalk on sunday. it looks like road rash on my knee. there's yellow crust, redness, it feels hot and there is a deep pain in the bones. i spray it with bactine 3 times a day. can there be infection without puss?

Yellow Crust: Yellow crust often represents a staph infection. I would have your doctor take a look.

in order to relieve the burn pain. should i dress it like a normal 2nd degree burn with bactine and bandage gauze?

You need exam: 2nd degree burn can vary widely.  Deep 2nd acts more like a 3rd, superficial 2nd acts more like a 1st. Treatment (at the least) would be cleansing frequently with soap/water, removing any dead skin/tissue, and coverage with antibiotic oint like silvadene (silver sulfadiazine).  All of this can vary with size/location/depth. If the injury is bigger than a quarter, has inc. Redness, or is over a joint- get to a burn dr.

my pcp  says i have pruritus ani. since 1996. nothing helps. bactine helps pain and cuts. anything better for healing?cuts & sores never seem to heal.

Sitz baths: Sitz baths for 20/30 minutes. Afterwards apply a local anesthetic ointment , but you should alo see a gastroenterologist as to why you are getting cuts and sores.

Probably not: Even though bactine is an antiseptic, it is doubtful it kills viruses. Wash with soap and water and rinse well.

embarrassing but, ideas for long term anal itch? tried moisturizer, antifungals and corticosteroids. disappears occasionally for a day or three then back after a random bm. itching creates painful cuts that require bactine to numb. help.

Anal itch: along w/cancer sore(s) as seen in your history suggest the possibility of a weak immune system.  Please continue to see your doctor.  Ask him/her about taking several doses of vitamin C daily, but not to the point of giving you the runs.  Consider changing your laundry detergent or type of underwear. You can also consult a dermatologist about the itch.  Peace and good health.
