No: Both men and women will have rare bacteria in a simple voided specimen .  In the absence of other bladder sx usually has no significance.  If the pt has other long standing GU problems then a more complete eval may be necessary .

Pelvic pain syndrome: I think you're the same person who asked previously about nonbacterial prostatitis. The answer is yes:  nonbacterial prostatitis (or chronic pelvic pain syndrome, CPPS) usually has normal urine WBC and no bacteria. If you have not done so, google CPPS (spell it out); the wikipedia article is good, and excellent info also is available on the website of the Stanford Univ. dept of urology.

can uti cause hip/back pain?  took cefdinir for uti  all pain gone. no bacteria in urinalysis and no growth culture but took one dose macrobid two days prior.  0-2 rbc, 21-50 wbc, leuko erat +.  all else neg. have trapped stone and on warfarin.

UTI plus other?: It was a mistake to take nitrofurantoin (Macrobid) before the culture test. Probably you have a UTI, perhaps with false negative culture because of the antibiotic. But the UTI or stone isn't necessarily the cause of your pain. This situation is much too complex to expect conclusive help on this or any other online forum. Keep working witih your doctor(s). Maybe: A high bacteria count either means you have a UTI or the urine was contaminated from your skin before it entered the specimen container.   There are other findings in a urinalysis that help clarify this.  Epithelial cells (skin cells) are evidence of contamination.  White cells and Leukocyte Esterease are indications of an infection.

No: Gonococci and chlamydia adhere to the epithelium that lines your urinary tract. You'll never catch them in the urinary sediment.

Ask your doctor: That result in and of itself is not necessarily that impressive to my way of thinking if you are inquiring about a urinary tract infection.  There should be more robust clinical symptoms aside from back pain with that result from a urinary analysis.  Your doctor will know more about the overall picture and how to interpret that single result.  Ask if a urine culture was obtained at all.

i have rare e cells, few m. threads, and rare bacteria in my urinalysis. for my penile swab i had rare gram negative bacilli in singles, pairs, chains. i also had rare gram negative cocci in pairs, singles, chains. is this all normal or concerning?

: Quite a lot of findings. Unless you have symptoms the urine- results not abnormal same for for the penileswab

Usually nothing: It is basically impossible to keep a few bacteria from finding their way into a specimen.

Nothing: Depending on your symptoms- some would read this as negative. I would look at the Nitrites and the Leukocytes to help me determine appropriate management. If both arer negative, I wouldn't treat with antibiotics. Good luck!
