i took 2 aleve (220 mg) tablets this morning for back pain. i took one more tablet 7.5 hours afterwards. is this ok or should i worry? i feel fine and dont take aleve regularly?

: It should not do any lasting damage. Do limit to the dose recommended by your doctor. Aleve can cause stomach upset. Regular aerobic exercise may help with your back pain. Exercise strong enough to induce sweating will improve muscle strength and flexibility. It may take up to 3 months so see the full effect.

Ibuprofen: Ibuprofen is more effective, can be taken 4 times a day. Local heat will help. aleve (naproxen) is taken 10-12hr apart.

i fell over the weekend and am experiencing intermittent burning pain in my back/side below my waist.  i am using ice and aleve.  what else can i do?

C yr doc n gt exam: If you fell down and had trauma to your backside there is always a possibility that you have broken a bone.  You could also be suffering from a gastrointestinal issue such as an ulcer which has ulcerated through your stomach wall towards your back.  You should be carefully examined by a good clinician. i took 13 aleve (naproxen) pills last night expecting not to wake up in the morning. now that i have woken up is there any back lash affects of me doing this?

Troubling..: First of all I hope you are okay, and you need to seek help immediately. Aleve, (naproxen) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) like Motrin, Ibuprofen etc. In itself would not cause you to die, however it can be associated with other conditions such as ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding and/or kidney injury if taken in specific settings. Please, please see your physician and let them know. ASAP.

i'm taking amitryptyline, neurontin (gabapentin) and naproxen for severe back pain and spasms. is it safe to take methocarbamol as well?

Yes: watch for sedation though. Don't drive until you know how sleepy you will get with the combination of Neurontin (gabapentin) and methocarbimal. ( assuming you take the amitryptyline at bedtime.

i have had an headache for 4 hours i took 3 aleve (naproxen) at 12:pm it gave me a little relief but it came back and i took 2 more 7:59pm i never get headache ?

i took 2 aleve at 6 this morning and i took a celebrex at 5:45 pm and i just took 2 more aleve at 6:45 pm and i just read i shouldnt of done that it is for severe back pain should i be worried? i know not to do it again?

Accepted Answer

: If that's the only time you've done that, it probably won't cause any harm. It can upset the stomach in the short term. I would be more concerned that you are in that much pain. Please contact your doctor during the day to figure out a better regimen for treating your pain and the cause of it.
