Positional load: Sitting places 4 times body weight load across your lower back while being in a car causes an additional vibrational stress  (cars & human spines vibrate at the same harmonic frequency about 5 hertz).  Prolonged positioning also adds increased load.  Getting up periodically if it can be done can help as can a small lumbar roll support.  Also seat adjustments can help such as a high back & armrests.

Local PM;R doc: Seek out a local pm;r doctor.  Without more detail it's impossible to tell for sure, but this is likely not a surgical issue.  Pain at the level of the scapula could be muscle pain in the rhomboids or thoracic paraspinal muscles.  Interspinous ligament sprain.  Fixated thoracic facet joints (a chiropractic issue).  Numerous other possibilities too.  Trigger point injections may help.  Pt maybe.

Low back pain: Most likely causes are sprain and strain. Given your age, costochondritis is also a possibility.Less likely are herniated discs, since you don't describe a referred or neurogenic type of problem.

None: Backbraces do not "protect" the spine.  If you need one, then just get a lumbar corset which will provide compression and warmth.  I would not recommend wearing it all of the time.

See details: You need to see a rheumatologist or orthopedist and have the issue evaluated. There are several possible causes for acute low back pain in a young person.

Try to relax: I know it's easier said then done but remember that there are many causes for low back pain other than cervical cancer.  For your age advanced cervical cancer is rare.  I know that you have already had your Pap smear completed and are just awaiting the results and that's fine but I would make sure that you aren't ignoring the many other possibilities that could be contributing to your symptoms.
