Easy stretch: This could be the sciatic nerve being compressed by the piriformis muscle.  Place the ankle on the side where pain is [let's say the right] atop the opposite [left] knee.  Sit upright and pull the [right] knee up until you feel a stretch in the [right] buttock.  Hold the stretch for 10 or 15 seconds.  Rest for 30 seconds, and repeat 3 times.  Do this 3 times a day.  See doc if no relief in 3 days.

upper-back muscle strain after 2 month of rest still not cured. pain and a small swallowed bumb in the area of injury. what shall i do?

Bump: If rest was all you tried and it has not resolved then you should now see your doctor and he may perhaps send you to pt/massage. A trigger injection may be of benefit depending on what it is.

See below: In general no bed rest unless pain is really severe.  It is best to lay on whatever is most comfortable.  Get up and do as much as you can.  General rule of thumb is that if it hurts a little it is ok, but do not go to extremes and use good body mechanics.  Try to keep one foot on a stool or rest. Do not stay in one position too long. If it really hurts don't do it. Time cures this.

i am suffering shoulder blade pain, my doctor said its upper back muscle strain, last throughout the day but better after hot bath how to alleviate?

Yes if it: gets better with heat it likely is a muscle strain..rest is the best therapy.

Muscle verses nerve: Continue to use the rub, heating pad to treat the strain. If the numbness and tingling doesn't improve, the possibility of thoracic radiculopathy should be considered. Thoracic imaging such as MRI can be utilized for further work up

could i've caused bump on bridge of nose to get bigger by taking lots of deep breaths & yawning? been doing that a lot last few mos due to a back muscle strain. now i'm worried i caused the bump to get bigger. or can only surgery change bump shape?

Unlikely: Unless you have developed some type of fistula it would be highly unlikely that deep breathing or yawning would effect nasal anatomy.

doc,i had whiplash injury 2yrs back only muscle strain,recently my x-ray shows elongated styloid process.my doc says it's ok,nothing serious.ur views?

Stylus is normal: A whiplash with muscle strain does not cause any lingering damage. A prolonged stylus does not cause symptoms. Don't know why you had an X-ray of your neck, but if you still have a problem, it could be caused by something that does not show up on a regular X-ray.  Maybe you need to be examined and tested.
