Limited to bowel: Technically speaking, IBS-C (constipation predominant) shd only affect the bowels. IBS isn't a systemic disease like IBD (inflammatory bowel disease - Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis). That being said, IBS can certainly cause anxiety / panic disorder (it has a way of affecting the mind, sleep, &amp; there4 personality), which can then explain the symptoms u describe. Have some evals: A family doctor is a good starting place. You may be wise to have some physical tests and to talk to a psychologist too. After they investigate - you can decide together what is wrong and what to do about it. I expect it will be a bit of both - some emotional parts and some physical. You can help them both with good treatments and taking good care of yourself.

: It is not feasible to provide an opinion without additional history, physical examination may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor to see if you may be depressed. Depression is treatable. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Transmission: of aortic pulse to epigastric (upper abdominal level) area is very common especially in thin individuals.  Chance of Aneurysm very very unlikely with negative CT (and your age)

See your doctor: The first thing to do is see your doctor. He or she can run blood tests  and get an ekg. A 24 hr monitor may be ordered to determine what exactly these palpitations are. After that your question can likely be answered.

There are not very: many blood tests that will define harmful or harmless palpitations. Severe electrolyte abnormalities might be a clue but otherwise you need electrocardiographic evaluation to determine the nature and danger associated with your palpitations.

A few : Some times simply changing your bodies postion will shift the hearts position  closer the the chest  and make the pulse more palpable. Lying flat can cause reflux which that irritates the heart and causes palpitations. Especially pts with a large hiatal hernia. Simple diagnostic evalluations such as a n upper GI study and a holter.
