Accepted Answer

Sure: Labor is painful but if you are determined to go natural there should be no reason why you can't.  Be sure to have some coping skills practiced up for when you are in labor - birthing classes teach these.  And you can always change your mind mid-labor (unless baby is coming too fast).

Dysmenorrhea: Women with extreme pain have reported that the experience desensitized them from the pain of labor. Other than that there is no relationship. R.

we in our 38th week(pregnancy) and no sign of labour pain still...baby was confirmed fine 2 weeks back.

what happens if we pass 40 weeks and we still not having labor pains or any signs of labor?

Depends: A normal pregnancy can last from 37-42 weeks, &amp; if the baby &amp; mom are healthy, most Drs do not try to bring on the labor artificially until at least 40 weeks.  Definitely call your wife’s OB provider if any concerns though

i have a new born baby boy who was delivered on the 7th of april 2020 and the process of delivery was more than 15 hours in labor pains. the problem now is that since the 7th to date he has not produced faeces. what might be wrong?

Never ?: It is important that any newborn have their first poop, usually within the 1st 24 hrs as this proves the system is connected &amp; open. After that first poop much depends on the method of feeds. Breast fed infants can poop a smear every feed or a cradle filler once a week. No 1st poop=doc needs to evaluate immediately.

how bad is labor pain ? this is my first baby  and i'm too scared.

Not to worry: Everyone is different.  Some people have a high tolerance for pain and some people cannot tolerate a needle stick for a blood test.
You should ask your OB about an epidural and request this when you are in active labor (frequent and strong contractions).  This will enable you to tolerate the contractions but still  be able to move and experience labor.

during labor/contractions, is it common for fetal movements to occur so much so as to ripple belly and notice baby poking out? or does that not happen

Yes: Yes I have definitely seen this phenomenon. Pregnancy and birth are truly amazing this way.

i go to hospital in 34 week than doctor says baby head is down now i am 39 week pregnant but not start labor pain can baby change position these days?

Accepted Answer

Breech: Rare to have the baby change from vertex to breech at 39 weeks. Not a lot of room for baby to move at this time except you have a lot of amniotic fluid around the baby which will expand or create a lot of room for baby to flip from head down to buttocks down. It is expected that labor pain will start anytime. If not after 41-42weeks most places in the usa will induce. Good luck.

Minimal : The risk to the mother is minimal most of the time.  The risk to the fetus is significant at that gestational age.  Prematurity and it's side effects is very serious.

Might be real thing: At 40 weeks of pregnancy, if contractions or "menstrual pains" are getting stronger instead of fading away, and if they are getting closer together instead of farther apart, it might be the real thing. Time will tell.
