Fever in 16 wk baby: Any child under the age of 1yr that has fever, particularly (but not necessarily) accompanied by any changes in behavior, feeding, alertness, irritability, excessive sleeping, and so on should be seen and managed by a pediatrician.  These little critters can become critically ill very rapidly.  Do not worry about a CRP - take them to the doctor.

Maybe get  treatment: Your 1 year old baby is having infection which is causing high fever. The CRP can go high in infections , but after treatment CRP value comes down .Your doctor may repeat CRP  test to check  the value of CRP .

CBC &amp; CRP: Complete blood cell counts with a predominance of lymphocytes and a low CRP are strongly suggestive of a viral infection.  Viral infections are often characterized by upper respiratory tract symptoms, fever, cough, vomiting, diarrhea and/or rash.  Since most viral infections to not improve with antibiotics, treatment is supportive.

Fever: If this baby is under a year old take them immediately to a pediatrician.  If one cannot see them now, then go to an er.  Babies of this age can deteriorate rapidly due to untreated infections and need to be fully evaluated by an expert in this area. Please go now. Do not delay.  Hope they are better soon.

2 LONG without eval.: Aspiration is a cause of such fevers. This way 2 long 2 go without further eval & rx. C ur pedi & go from there. Aspiration in a young child can lead many problems the most important is death.

See below : What determines if this is worrisome, depends on the age of the child, how high the fever is, how long the fever has been going on and other associated symptoms in the child like breathing situation, hydration and the child's alertness. Depends: Low to mid range fever is both common at that age &amp; causes range from simple viruses to ear infections &amp; more. If the kid seems happy/feeds well &amp; plays some when the fever is down simple comfort measures at home are fine. If the kid doesn't take fluids well enough to pee every 6 hrs/seems lethargic or otherwise spooks you take it in for an exam.

TTC: If you and your partner have been trying to conceive for 4 years with no success, then both of you should be tested.
A good fertility specialist OB/GYN will test both partners to see where the problem is.  The number of possibilities can range from problems with the eggs, problem with the uterus or hormone levels.  The problem can also be the male with low sperm count or nonfunctional sperm.

And what else ?: A kid with low grade fever can be watched at home if they continue to feed/drink well enough to remain hydrated. Making pee every 6 hours is ample sign of good hydration. If the kid is playful &amp; retains most of their routine it is a good sign. Any kid who refuses to drink, play or seems restless deserves a look over regardless of their temperature.

GBS+ treatments: In the US, it is routine to start IV antibiotics as soon as you present in labor. Oral meds don't help. Regular doses are given every few hours until delivery. This protocol has reduced the frequency of GBS problems. There is always a risk with prolonged rupture of membranes (other germs), increasing risk after 18 hrs often pushes increased surveillance of labor &amp; can lead some to elect c section.
